Position I:

English Lecturers For Undergraduate Students (Non-English Majors) at College English Department, College of Foreign Languages and Cultures(CFLC)

Contract Period: Commencing from September/October  to June/July 

Work load: 14-16 teaching hours per week and relevant administrative work as well as participation in activities organized by the College and/or the University.

Job Responsibilities: Courses:

A. Oral English for undergraduates:

Course Description: The course is aimed to help students improve their pronunciation and communicate more confidently, to improve their skills in Interpersonal Communication and Interpretive Communication. The teacher should try to create some “real” contexts for the students to practice conveying their sensitivity to others and to the situation, and to help them gain more confidence and enable them to prepare and make a presentation in the work-place or in an academic environment.

B. Other courses proposed by the applicants (subject to approval of the employer) (selective courses)

Courses include but are not limited to language and cultural studies of the English-speaking countries.

Qualification Requirements : Native English speaker with at least a MA degree, two years of formal teaching experience and professional, wholehearted commitment to teaching

Position II:

English Lecturers for Graduate Students (Non-English Majors, Master & Ph.D. Programs) at the College English Department of College of Foreign Languages and Cultures (CFLC)

Contract Period:

Commencing from September to June/July

Work load:

12-14 teaching hours per week, student homework and exam responsibilities; relevant administrative work as well as participation in activities organized by the College and/or the University.

Job Responsibilities:

Applicants need to be able to teach at least one of the following courses independently:

A. Academic English

B. Academic Writing

C. Successful Practical Writing

D. Effective Presentations

E. Writing for Exams

F. English language and cultural studies

G. Academic Speaking Skills

H. Effective Pronunciation

I. IELTS English (Academic Module)

J. Other courses proposed by the applicants (subject to approval of the employer).

Qualification Requirements:

Native English speaker with at least a Master's degree and two years of formal teaching experience and professional; wholehearted commitment to teaching; proof of subject matter competency for the course they wish to teach.

Position III:

English Lecturers For English Major Students at English Department

Contract Period:

Commencing from September to June/July

Work load:

12-14 teaching hours per week, student homework and exam responsibilities; relevant administrative work as well as participation in activities organized by the College and/or the University.

Qualification Requirements:

Native English speakers with at least a MA degree, two years of formal teaching experience and professional, wholehearted commitment to teaching; willingness to cooperate with colleagues and departmental leaders is of utmost importance.

Applicants are supposed to and able to teach various English courses (listed below) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in accordance with the departmental teaching arrangements though it is understood that most of the time the applicants will be reasonably assigned to an appropriate teaching position for the courses that fall within their academic interests.
