Introduction To This University

Founded in 1920, This University is one of the most prestigious, research-oriented international universities in China. In 1954 it was successively ratified as one of the six national key universities, and one of the leading universities in the“211 Project” in 1995, (This Project represents 100 universities that were selected to develop into high-level universities in the 21st century.) which was followed in 1998 with inclusion in the top nine universities that collectively have been prioritized to meet the high standards of first rate world-class universities. This University in cooperation with the other eight well-known universities - Beijing University; Tsinghua University; Zhenjiang University; Fudan University; Shanghai Jiaotong University; Nanjing University; University of Science and Technology of China, Xi’an Jiaotong University all represent China’s “Ivy League”, known as the “C9 League”, acting as a platform for strengthening cooperation and communication in various aspects of education and research.

This University has three campuses: Harbin Campus(the main campus in Harbin, HeilongjiangProvince), Shenzhen Campus(Shenzhen GraduateSchool in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province) and Weihai Campus(in Weihai, Shandong Province).

This University(Weihai) was founded in 1985 and is located in Weihai - a beautiful coastal city in theShandong Peninsula, endowed with clean beaches and a mild climate. Weihai has won the “Best ResidentialCity” award and combines convenient transport links with a dynamic and prosperous economy. Being close to the sea This University (Weihai) complements its picturesque environment with a lively and active academic atmosphere. It has a campus area of1,560,000m² of which buildings comprise   37, 5000 m².

As an integral part of Harbin Institute of Technology, This University(Weihai) adheres fully to the traditions, principles, overall management, development of academic disciplines and the education of students  following the core values established by Harbin Institute of Technology.

Engineering is the leading discipline, properly coordinated with science, economics, management and arts, covering 37 undergraduate programs.  Notice to Foreign Experts at This University

Welcome you to work at This University and we wish you enjoy your work and stay on our campus. Please read the following carefully before you arrive or as soon as you arrive at This University so that you will have a more pleasant beginning of working and living here.

1All the foreign experts who are to work and live at This University must observe all the laws and regulations of PRC of their own free will. You must observe all the regulations of This University on your own initiative.

2Foreign experts should report your arrival to the International Office the moment you arrive at This University. The staff from the office will show you the necessary procedures of some essential matters, or the foreign experts are supposed to bear all the responsibilities which may be caused by your delayed report.  

3Foreign expert have to get well prepared for the materials which are needed for the applications for the foreign expert certificates and foreign expert residence permits when they come to the International Office. The materials are as follows: (1) Passport in original and a copy of one’s passport. (2) Four recently-shot photos without caps with the size of 35mm (width) and 45mm(length). (3) Academic certificates and degree’s diplomas. (4) Working experiences. (5) Teacher’s qualification certificates if they have.

4If your family members come along with you and live together, they are required to provide their original marriage certificates (couple’s) or the birth certificates (children’s) to the local public security organs. If you are from the USA, a notarial certificate of your original marriage certificate or your children’s birth certificates are required. Or you are not given the residence permits.

5Foreign experts should pay for the foreign experts certificates, residence permit (400), and health certificate (302), yourselves as all these fees are included in the wages in the contract.

6If foreign experts go back to your native country, or go to another country or travel in China during the contracted period, you should ask for leave in written form from the schools or departments where you work and keep in touch with the schools or the departments during your absence. You pay all the necessary fees by yourselves.

7It is strictly required that all the foreign experts who are to work at This University must have your physical tests at Weihai Inspection and Quarantine Station.

8The foreign experts are supposed to read the contract carefully before you sign it.
